Loden part

If you are going to sleep at night or without a backup, moisture protection for your bed is essential. If it is made from natural materials, it not only makes ecological sense but it also contributes to a good sleeping environment.
New wool is temperature-regulating - it warms comfortably in winter and in summer it doesn't get clammy when you sweat because it can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet. In combination with wool sleepwear, it creates a very pleasant feel-good climate for a restful sleep.

Our bed topper is made of soft, thick natural loden.
This is made from pure local virgin wool. This was not bleached or dyed, but only washed and processed into thick yarn, which was then milled into a dense, soft loden.
Not only is the loden naturally incredibly dense and water-repellent, it is also wonderfully thin compared to other wool fabrics. This means that the loden part can easily find its place in every bed; no thick seams or edges disturb when lying down. It can also be easily inserted between two mattresses and thus easily clamped.

Our loden part is available in three sizes. The smallest is suitable for an extra bed, the stroller, the playpen or as a base in the car seat.
Size 2 is ideal for a cot. The largest fits a parent's bed mattress that is 70-90 cm wide and can be placed under it with sufficient overhang. Of course, size 3 can also be used for a parent's mattress and a nursing bed. You have to look at this based on your individual circumstances and needs.

The loden made of pure new wool still has a good portion of lanolin and is already very dense even when new. The greasing in the lanolin bath makes it water-repellent and fluffy-soft again after washing.
If the loden part gets wet, it is sufficient to hang it out in the fresh air. This neutralizes odors and the wool becomes dry and fresh again.

However, please note that if a damp/wet diaper or absorbent pad is left under pressure for a long time, moisture will penetrate downwards and the mattress will become damp.
In this respect, the loden part cannot be equated with a plastic base through which no moisture can get through.

Depending on availability, the color can be either natural white, light gray or mottled beige. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate color requests as we can always deliver what we get from the manufacturer.
